Collection: Porsche 911 G-body spoilers and decklids

A ducktail, an insert in the original lid and a complete wing assembly are different ways to change the back of a G-body 911. Start with the lid and hinges on your car, then choose the shape. The parts below have different year ranges and mounting requirements; they are not all interchangeable.

Keep the lid you already have

  • Earlier-911 wing insert: mounts to the earlier stock decklid. This is a different part from the insert for a standard 964 C2/C4 lid.
  • 993-style Club Sport wing: the styling is 993-inspired, but its documented mounting application is a 1969–1988 stock-style 911 lid. It needs a 993 grille. Do not assume it fits a 1989 lid.

Replace the complete decklid

The RS-style ducktail gives an early profile and uses a separate SC/Carrera-style plastic grille. The GT3-style tail base is another complete-lid route for an earlier 911—not a replacement panel for a later GT3.

Larger wings and different tail profiles

Some packages require you to specify the earlier-911 or 964 version. Settle that choice before ordering; the same styling name can cover different supplied configurations.

Whale-tail options that need an installation check

Compare the 1976 Turbo-style whale tail, wider IROC whale tail and 930 Turbo tea tray. Year-by-year G-body fitment is not confirmed for these three listings. Check the hinge pattern, latch, rear clearance and any intercooler before choosing one.

For the rest of the car, browse G-body parts. The full wings, tails and decklids collection also includes separate blades and fitting pieces.
