Start with the right 911 generation

  • Early, long-hood 911: check the precise year, wheelbase, body width, lights, and trim. 911R, ST, and RS-inspired projects can require different surrounding parts.
  • G-Series, impact-bumper 911: plan bumper, flare, wheel, and latch changes together, especially when backdating the bodywork.
  • 964: check C2/C4-specific hinges, deck lids, mirrors, bumpers, and mounting details. An earlier-style panel may need adapters or additional work.
  • 993: the last air-cooled 911 generation. A “993-style” part for an earlier car is not necessarily a part that fits a 993.

Common build approaches

A restoration usually favors original-style parts. An outlaw or hot rod gives you more room to change the bodywork, cabin, and mechanical setup. RS, ST, RSR, IROC, and Turbo-inspired projects each have their own proportions; choose the wheel setup and body widths before buying panels.

Read the individual product’s year range, dimensions, materials, quantity, and installation notes. A model or style name alone does not establish compatibility. Check your current panels, hinges, latches, lights, seals, glass, wheels, and suspension. Test-fit body parts before paint.
